ABOUT OPO

The people behind the teams behind your business

Most businesses land on an About page trying to answer one question: can I trust these people with something important? Fair question. At OPO, the answer isn't wrapped in buzzwords. It's in the way the business is run. Directors on the ground, team members employed and supported properly, and an operating model designed for long-term integration rather than transactional outsourcing.

In a sentence? We build dedicated offshore teams in Fiji and the Philippines for businesses that want more than just to save a few dollars — they value loyalty, stability, and people who genuinely feel part of the team. Here's a little bit of our story.

HOW IT BEGAN

A company built from belonging

Brad and Tracy Russell spent three decades building careers across Australia's tourism, retail and medical sectors before a chance opportunity brought them to Fiji in 2012.

They came for a role at one of Fiji's beautiful resorts. They stayed because Fiji gave their family something they hadn't expected: belonging.

Their youngest son, who had faced significant learning challenges as a result of epilepsy in his early years, found his footing in Fiji in a way that hadn't been possible before. The country embraced him. The community held him. And he thrived.

That experience changed how Brad and Tracy saw their role in Fiji. They were no longer outsiders working in a foreign country, but members of a community that had given their family something profound.

When they began building their family home in Nadi, the question wasn't whether to give back. It was how.

The answer was employment.

Meaningful, well-managed, professional employment for Fiji's urban workforce — a talented, English-speaking, deeply motivated group of people that Australian businesses had largely overlooked.

That belief laid the foundation for what would become Our Pacific Office, a business built to connect talented Fijian professionals with businesses looking for reliable, long-term offshore support.

OPO TODAY

A different kind of offshore partnership

Today, Our Pacific Office helps businesses build dedicated offshore teams in Fiji and the Philippines by sourcing and placing professionals who become a genuine extension of your organisation.

Unlike traditional outsourcing models built solely around short-term cost savings, OPO focuses on long-term integration. Every team member is employed and supported through a structure designed to create stability, accountability and strong working relationships.

For businesses, that means access to talented professionals who are invested in the work they do and the teams they're part of.

For the people who join OPO, it means meaningful employment, professional development, and the opportunity to build lasting careers.

It's a model built on a simple idea: when people are supported properly, businesses grow stronger.

ON THE GROUND

Leadership where it matters most

Many offshore providers manage their operations remotely. OPO is run on the ground.

Brad and Tracy Russell still live and work in Fiji and remain closely involved in the day-to-day running of the business. Recruitment, team development, workplace standards and operational oversight all sit within their direct line of sight. And often, when you call, you'll speak to them directly.

Decisions happen quickly. Issues are resolved early. Standards are maintained. The result is a level of accountability and operational stability that is extremely difficult to achieve in distance-managed offshore models.

WHY FIJI (AND THE PHILIPPINES)?

Natural collaboration with Australian businesses

Fiji offers something many offshore locations struggle to achieve: genuine working alignment with Australian businesses. Geographically close, culturally familiar, and home to a highly capable English-speaking workforce, this is a location that enables offshore teams to collaborate naturally with their Australian counterparts. The result is a setup that feels less like outsourcing, and more like extending your team.

Real-time collaboration

With only a two-hour time difference from eastern Australia, teams work within the same business day. Meetings, problem-solving and project work can happen in real time, without the delays that come with larger offshore time gaps.

Easy travel and closer connection

Fiji is only a short flight from Australia and New Zealand, making it easy for businesses to visit their teams for onboarding, training, and in-person collaboration. That proximity helps build stronger relationships and keeps teams closely connected.

Clear, natural communication

English is widely spoken in Fiji, and communication styles align closely with Australian workplaces. The neutral accent of Fijian professionals is easily understood by Australian and New Zealand customers, helping create smooth interactions in customer service, sales, and support roles.

A workforce known for reliability

Fijian professionals are recognised for their loyalty, strong work ethic, and pride in delivering consistent results. Combined with Fiji's smaller talent market and lower attrition rates, this means your teams remain stable and committed for the long term.

A professional office environment

Many Fijian professionals prefer working from the office alongside their colleagues, facilitating greater oversight, stronger collaboration, and fewer productivity challenges than fully remote offshore models.

INSIDE OUR OFFICE

A workplace designed for professional teams

Our office is located on the first floor of a purpose-built facility in Votualevu, Nadi, one of Fiji's main commercial centres. It's where your team member works every day, supported by professional infrastructure and on-site management.

A fully equipped workstation

Every team member is set up with the tools required for the role, including a desktop or laptop, headset, dual monitors where needed, high-speed internet with redundancy, and the appropriate software licences. Once you provide access to your internal systems, we ensure the infrastructure and connectivity are in place for your team member to work productively.

On-site technical support

Technology issues shouldn't slow down operations. Our IT Manager handles workstation setup, network management, and day-to-day technical support, ensuring systems remain stable and any issues are resolved quickly.

Management on the floor

The office operates Monday to Friday in alignment with Australian business hours. Management is present on the floor every day — not remote supervision, but direct, in-person oversight from people working in the same building as your team.

Visibility and direct communication

"Just trust us" isn't how we operate. Transparency is built into our staffing model through regular reporting and direct communication between you and your team member from day one.
